For the visual-spatial learner who learns differently, attention and anxiety challenges are very common. Too often, these problems get worse as the work gets harder, test pressures increase, and assignments are longer.
Note, while 20 percent of our students have ADHD, Attention Deficit Disorder, and some have a diagnosed anxiety challenge, the interventions we discuss can help virtually all our students. We address attention and anxiety challenges as an integrated part of the 3D Learner Program ® and also as a stand-alone program to improve attention and reduce anxiety.
Parents often ask us about the tools we use and what makes our approach so effective
We use the Interactive Metronome ® to improve attention and neural timing, the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) ® to reduce anxiety, cross midline exercises and parent coaching to make the difference. What makes our approach so effective:
1- We work hard to engage our students in the process — often using athletics, dance, martial arts or their preferred activity to engage students and show them how doing this work will help them academically and in their preferred activity
2- We have 27 years of experience with the Interactive Metronome and over 10 years with the Safe and Sound Protocol. At one point we were recognized by the Interactive Metronome developer as having the best results of anyone in the country
3- We make it fun
4- We involve and coach parents — so what we do results in benefits at home and at school
What Clients Say
As one dad said, after doing the Interactive Metronome and the Safe and Sound Protocol it was like having a different kid in so many ways, D Atkins Coral Springs.
One student had been suspended twice, he was struggling in school and his batting average was 265 with 1 home run. We convinced him we could improve his batting average and homerun production. After the program he was never suspended, he got put into honors classes, his batting average went from 265 to 390 and his home run production went from 1 to10.
Another dad commented, “We did the Interactive Metronome in New Jersey and saw no benefit. You did 5 shorter sessions and the difference was amazing. After the program my son was doing homework in under an hour when it used to take 2.5 hours or more — when I asked him what the difference was he commented, “it’s amazing how easy it is to do homework when you can pay attention in class.
