Executive Function Assessment – Special Pricing

At 3D Learner, we provide an Executive Function Assessment and a Dyslexia Assessment

Why

Many students struggle with executive function issues — such as working memory, processing speed, attention and flexible thinking.

Most kids with dyslexia also struggle with executive function skills.  While dyslexia programs are designed to help children read more efficiently and effectively, these underlying executive function challenges often get in the way.

If your child is struggling now, it is likely to get worse.

Post Pandemic — Executive Function Skills Have Gotten Worse

In a study of over 35,000 students, Mindprint found that

  • Working Memory Challenges Got Much Worse, especially for verbal information:
Dyslexia programs introduce a variety of rules and strategies to help children decode words.
However, post pandemic, with weaker working memory skills, remembering and applying those rules in real time can be incredibly difficult. This can lead to frustration and inconsistent progress.
  • Flexible Thinking Skills Got Worse — For Students and Adults:
Students with learning challenges tend to be less flexible, and post pandemic their skills got even worse.  The same decline was seen in adults.
  • Verbal Reasoning Got Worse
Students’ ability to solve problems with words worsened.  This directly impacts reading, writing and the ability to do math word problems

These factors often combine to create a cycle of frustration. Parents may see some progress, but not the transformational growth they are hoping for.

While many students with executive function challenges do not have dyslexia, many kids would benefit from being assessed for both Executive Function skills and dyslexia.

Why Assess for Executive Function Skills and Dyslexia

If only dyslexia is addressed, a child may:

  • Improve decoding skills but continue to struggle with reading comprehension.
  • Lose motivation because the process feels too hard or too slow.
  • Still face academic challenges in other areas like math, writing, and test-taking.

When executive function skills and dyslexia are addressed together, children can experience breakthroughs.
They begin to:

  • Remember what they read and apply strategies more consistently.
  • Read with greater fluency and understanding.
  • Stay focused and motivated, making learning more enjoyable.

Build confidence as they see faster, more meaningful progress.

The 3D Learner Approach

At 3D Learner, we believe every child deserves an approach that identifies and addresses both areas:

  1. Comprehensive Assessment:
We look at dyslexia and executive function strengths and challenges, so nothing is overlooked.
  1. Personalized Plan:
By understanding how your child learns best, we create a program that plays to their strengths and builds the foundational skills they need.
  1. Strength-Based Support:
We help children — and their parents — shift from focusing on weaknesses to leveraging strengths, creating lasting academic and emotional growth.

Bottom line:

Many students have executive function issues that could be identified and addressed.

If a child has dyslexia, a dyslexia program alone may not be enough.

If you suspect dyslexia and/or executive function challenges, we strongly recommend parents assess for executive function skills and dyslexia.
