3D Learner Smart Start TM

For Pre-K Through 2nd Grade

Beat Dyslexia, Learning Disabilities and Reading Disabilities

Dyslexia, Learning Disabilities and Reading Disabilities often surface in 3rd and 4th gades when they could have been avoided -- especially for right-brained learners -- who learn best when they see and experience information

Many smart children from the best of families struggle in Kindergarten, first and second grades. They often have problems with the small words (ex: but, the, what, if, ...) and with recognizing words they have seen on the previous page or even a couple of lines before.

What's worse is that:

  • Parents will often hear from others, don't worry, your child will catch on
  • Statistics show that almost 90% of first graders with a word identification problem with be poor readers in 4th grade

At 3D Learner, we believe that ...

Every child deserves to be successful in school from day one. Children need to be ready to learn both in mind and body.

The 3D Learner Smart Start Program ® is specifically developed to provide skill building and fun activities that parents and children can enjoy together. The program is meant to be interactive in order to develop the necessary skills, including positive language and mind-body integration to make successful learning possible.

The kids we help learn best by seeing and doing - Dr. Linda Silverman, from the Gifted Development Center in Denver labels these students visual spatial learners, and says that:

"Phonics instruction does not need to be eliminated altogether, but sight word vocabulary needs to be built first. Then whole words or syllables can be compared and the pattern recognition capacities of the visual-spatial learner can be brought to bear".

The program starts with teaching the child to be calm and then provides exercises to integrate their left and right brains.By creating a learning environment, where children are calm and integrated, and where they can discover letter patterns of words and create their own picture of what they mean, they build a vocabulary bank that they can utilize when learning to read.

This program provides a framework to teach children letters and letter patterns within words, and a method for mastering word meaning. The exercises in this program reinforce these skills so that children achieve success.

Issues We Address

  • Students often get frustrated and break down when doing work that is difficult for them
  • These students need a good flow of information between their left and right brains - they get information into their right brain, need to create a picture for it and then send a message to the left brain to give it a meaning - our students often have trouble doing this
  • The small or sight words cause major problems
  • Visual memory (spelling and math facts) are often learned and quickly forgotten
  • Recognizing a word they have previously seen is a major challenge

Tools We Provide:

  • The 3D Learner Controller ® to help students and parents to stay calm
  • Brain Gym exercises ® that help your child to integrate their left and right brains before doing work - and at intervals to keep them focused
  • A clay-based approach, with clay that will last, and an approach that is laid out in words and in pictures to help your child to master:
  • Spelling & Math Facts
  • Sight word vocabulary
  • Pattern Recognition

Positive coaching to create a framework to help your child focus on what you want them to do.
