These referrals have provided better results -- with parents gaining a better understanding of their child, but parents have continued to ask me to provide the testing myself.
My name is Mira Halpert. I have:
- A Masters in Education and a degree in psychology from the University of Michigan
- 30 years of educational experience, with the last 13 focused on helping Bright Right-Brained Learners and their parents to succeed
- A deep appreciation for your frustration -- spending thousands of dollars, receiving a comprehensive and overwhelming report, and not knowing what to do next is incredibly frustrating
To meet your needs, we have done the following:
- Developed a list of psychologists and neuro-psychologists we recommend -- based on the specific needs of your child's situation
- Developed a working relationship with Dr. Linda Silverman, from the Gifted Development Center in Denver, CO. You can either go to Denver and have them do the testing, -- or have a consultultation from Dr. Silverman or her team member after you have done a psycho educational test elsewhere.
- Established a relationship with a group of local psychologists where they will do the Psycho-Educational Testing either at our Boca Raton Office, or in the comfort of your own your home., We will co-develop the report and I will provide the feedback.
With this last option I can:
- Tailor the report and feedback to meet your needs in a format you can understand
- Incorporate the visual processing, attention and movement assessments that will help you to better understand the challenges that often co-exist with these Bright Right-Brained Learners
- Explain the diagnosis in parent friendly terms -- and explain Dyslexia, a Learning Disability, ADHD (Attention Deficit Disorder), a Visual or Auditory Processing issue, or other terms that we all find challenging to understand.
- Help you to understand how your child learns best and the positive and challenging consequences
- Provide tools and suggestions you can use and ways to implement them
- Help you to work more effectively with your child's school
- Help you to understand your child's present level of performance, what is possible and to share solutions you can pursue -- with either 3D Learner and/or other professionals
- Answer your questions from a prospective of a parent and professional who has lived with these challenges and helped kids succeed
Many parents who contact us do not need a psychological report -- what they want is a comprehensive assessment that shows them:
- How their child learns best
- Their learning strengths and challenges
- Whether their child has a visual processing, auditory processing or attention issue
- How they can help their child succeed
I am an advanced Structure of Intellect Assessor (R) and also use a Visagraph (R) that shows tracking issues, the Interactive Metronome (R) that shows attention issues, and Biofeedback to show you how your child replies to stress.
