For GOLD Students ®

Collaboration, Communication and Consistency

Make a Real Difference

GOLD students often have a huge gap between their performance and their potential.  A GOLD Student (TM) will do their best when parents and professionals collaborate, communicate and are consistent.

We have seen parents of GOLD students take very different approaches.

We have seen parents of GOLD students combat the teachers – their GOLD student took advantage of the battle and did not fully commit to her work.

Another really fought hard for the right goals for her GOLD Student, but when challenges occurred, she did not communicate effectively with the teacher.

One dad insisted that the teacher be consistent, but he was not.

Then there are the parents who do what we suggest.  Their results tend to be far greater because the GOLD student:

-  Thrives when there is collaboration, communication and consistency

-  Plays one side against the other when these elements are missing

- Tends to mirror the behavior he or she sees.

We have learned from our mistakes and our successes and we want you to realize that:

-  The old expression that “you catch far more with honey than with vinegar” is even truer for the GOLD Student.  Teachers tend to either love GOLD students or ...

Start by collaborating with your child’s teacher.

-  Communication is so critical for the GOLD student because issues can and do appear.  Their performance is likely to be consistently inconsistent at first, and if there is an emotional event (e.g. a death or an illness), you want to make sure the teacher is aware.

-  Consistency is critical, because your GOLD student will often thrive on inconsistencies, and when you are consistent they will respond to that too.

We have raised two GOLD Students and we really understand the rewards, the challenges and the need for parents to be the coaches and advocates your child needs.
